Tracey Davis has just released her new album titled Now, Tracey is an Australian Country Music artist with a lovely sweet voice, that can whisk you away into another place, relaxing you from a hard days work. The album contains 15 tracks, though the last track is not country, but we can forgive her this little issue. The songs have been written by Tracey and Chris Hartley, either individually or together. One common factor thorugh the labum is the feeling of fun that they had recording the music in the studio. The First song is Lover Come Back to Me, a wonderful enchating song, which makes you almost want to go looking for Tracey !! The we have I Want To Play, which is a great foot tapping song with a good up beat rhythm. Track 3 is the album title song Now, slowing us down, at least to start with, but soon picks up speed and is a great love song. We then have I Let Myself Down, a song about doubt, but it played with an upbeat tempo, showing an offering of hope, even while thinking out what she has done. Reach for the Sky starts with a simple piano key into... but soon demostartes Tracey's voice, and a great foot tapping sound... the song providing lots of positive energy. Then the electric guitar brings us into B & S Ball, this is a song telling us all about the local country ball, and have to say, it is tempting to get up and dance to this one. To keep the speed up and keep you dancing Tracey then gives us the Kiss of Life, followed by a slow number, The Fire Still Burns in Me, and the title says it all for this song, a reflection of loving someone after time passes. Track 10 reminds us the Tracey is Not Finished Yet, again another song that will get you up and dancing along, Tracey's sweet voice singing to you in her Australian accent coming through. You're The Secret has a country blues feel to it, as the song explores what is that secret. Whirley Wind is a song about how love can feel and as the name suggests the song has the faster exciting feel to it. Lily White Dress, is the follow up song which goes for a more raw country feel to it, with guitar as the base to the tune giving a happy feel about falling in love. We have now reached the last country song on this album, Pleasure Ride is a thank you song to all who have helped her in her quest in developing her musical career over all the years and it is good gentle song. Then the album finishes with this none Country song, Change My Mind, Chris wanted to write a song just for his new minimoog, and while it is not country, it is still fun to listen to it, and shows clearly that Tracey's voice is so adaptable. This is an album that I would give 5 stars. For more infomration regarding Tracey and where to buy the album, click here http://www.traceydavis.com.au/ |
