Background to me, I have been involved in radio now for over 9 years as a way of relaxing from the stresses of work, starting at first as a show producer on Bob MacDonald's Country Trails radio show, and eventually progressing to producing and presenting my own show, Countryside n Farming, which was an information show to serve the farming community. Later after Bob retired from presenting, I started my own country music radio show, initially on 98.8 Castle FM, (some 4 years ago now!!) and later followed by a short time of Radio Mix Age in Romania and then I joined The Music Machine Scotland team 2 years ago. This has also been followed by Links Radio, an internet radio station dedicated to unsigned artists. I am a true country boy, raised on a farm, comprising a mixture of beef cattle, sheep and arable crops, so yes, I was driving tractors before I was on the public roads, but also the farm Land Rover, a wonderful ex-army Lightweight. Of course, I still drive a Land Rover, as I may work in the city of Edinburgh, I am still Country at heart. |
